DESCRIPTION

Basic Assignment

Supervise and interact with a group of 2-5 campers ages 4-16. Applicant must be willing and able to lead and encourage campers, listen to supervisors instructions, keep campers safe, and adapt to change within the beach camp environment. Applicant will be representing Aqua-Adventures and We Are Coaches, Inc and must be a constant positive role model, especially during work hours.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 16 years old and in high school or graduated (if you’re younger, contact us about volunteering or a counselor-in-training position)
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Have a background in water safety, surfing, and/or boogie boarding and able to teach both surfing and boogie boarding
  • The desire and ability to work with groups of children at the beach and in the ocean
  • The capability to guide groups of 2-5 campers around the beach and in the ocean
  • Must stay extremely focused at all times and be able to hear and see well
  • Needs to physically be able to respond quickly to emergency situations if they arise
  • Must be able to enforce rules and safety and follow counselor duties

Major Responsibilities

  • Supervise, interact with, and lead the group of children you are given for the week
  • Help other counselors and the supervisor when requested
  • Contribute to planning activities for campers including beach games, lunch/snack time activities, and in-water activities such as surfing and boogie boarding
  • Create and encourage an age-appropriate environment for all children attending camp
  • Willingly adapt to different situations or tasks you may be given

DESCRIPTION

Basic Assignment

Supervise and interact with campers and coaches. Applicant must be willing and able to lead and encourage campers and coaches, keep campers and coaches safe, and adapt to change within the beach camp environment. Applicant will be representing Aqua-Adventures and We Are Coaches, Inc and must be a constant positive role model, especially during work hours. Supervisor will need to manage 10+ coaches and must be willing and able to help supervise 20+ campers per day. He/she will be in charge of regulating time and directing coaches and campers to do their next activities.

  • The capability to guide groups of at least 2-5 campers around the beach and in the ocean
  • Must stay extremely focused at all times and be able to hear and see well
  • Needs to physically be able to respond quickly to emergency situations if they arise
  • Must be able to enforce rules and safety

Major Responsibilities

  • Help parents with sign-in and sign-out at the beginning and end of each camp session
  • Direct coaches and campers to their next activities
  • Manage time for lunch, snack, and pick ups as well as any other activities for the day such as surf clinics or private lessons
  • Make sure campers are in the water as much as possible
  • Contribute to planning activities for campers including beach games, lunch/snack time activities, and in-water activities such as surfing and boogie boarding
  • Create and encourage an age-appropriate environment for all children attending camp
  • Willingly adapt to different situations or tasks you may be given
